Mission Statement
The mission of Pawprints of Portales Rescue is to use humane principles and education to save animals’ lives through rescue, adoption, spay/neuter services, and community programs.
Meet penny
Penny is a 1.5-year-old female terrier mix weighing in at only about 6 pounds. She is fixed and UTD on shots. Penny was left at the Clovis shelter very scared. Penny is a lap dog, loves cuddles and being by your side. She’s a little shy and particular at first, but once she’s warmed up to you, she’ll be your best friend. Penny has been around cats and calm dogs in her foster home. She will need an adopter that will give her time to relax in her new environment. Older children will be best because of her size. If you are interested in Penny, please send us an application today. She’s ready for her forever home!! |
Marge & Bart
Marge and Bart are a mother and son that were dumped on the streets of Portales. Luckily, they were rescued and shown kindness by their fosters. They are learning to trust people and are so sweet and open to love! They are ready for their new homes! Marge is approx. 1-2 years old, fixed and up to date on shots. She is a Great Pyrenees mix. While a little shy at first, she warms up and wants attention quickly. Marge is learning to walk on a leash, goes in a kennel great and does well around cats and dogs. Marge would love a patient family that will give her a chance to live in a home and get the love she deserves. Bart is a 6–9-month-old Great Pyrenees mix. He is fixed and up to date on shots. When Bart was first found, he was very emaciated and scared. He has been working on his confidence and is a sweet, goofy boy! Bart is learning to walk on a leash, goes in his kennel, loves playing with other dogs and is great around cats. Bart is a little shy at first, but he’s learning that he loves being around people and wants their attention. Bart would love a family to call his own soon. |
Meet Edgar!
Edgar is the most distinguished, tuxedo gentleman! He is approx. 2 years old, fixed and UTD on shots. He came to our rescue very thin and needed some extra TLC to get strong and healthy again. Edgar has a very laid-back attitude. He loves naps and cuddles. Edgar loves snacks and extra attention. He has been around cats, dogs, and children in his foster home. He is ready for a new home of his own and a family to love him. |
